Ukraine receives four Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzers from Slovakia
Europe, News August 14, 2022 No Comments on Ukraine receives four Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzers from SlovakiaUkraine has received four of the eight Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzers from Slovakia, Defense Minister of the Slovak Republic Jaroslav Nad announced.
Nad posted on his Twitter that “Slovakia is helping to protect innocent Ukrainian lives! Happy to confirm that the first 4 Zuzana Howitzers are in the hands of Ukrainian armed forces, ready to be deployed in defence against the Russian aggressors.”
The remaining four Zuzana self-propelled howitzers will soon be delivered to Ukraine and currently, Ukrainian servicemen are training with the Zuzana 2 howitzer.
The Ukrainian President’s Office Chief Andriy Yermak also confirmed that four “Zuzana 2 self-propelled guns have arrived in Ukraine. That’s 155-mm caliber for purging the territory of Ukraine of the devil’s hordes under tricolor flags.”
In June 2022, Slovakia’s Minister of Defense Jaroslav Nad stated that Slovakia had a signed contract of delivering eight Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine to effectively counter the Russian attack.
Zuzana 2 self-propelled howitzer is an updated version of the 155 mm ShKH Zuzana and has a new 52-caliber gun and an armored cab. The Zuzana 2 also has the Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact (MRSI) capability and it can fire 6 rounds per minute and has a firing range of 41 km (25 mi).
