The live missile and torpedo tests were carried out from air, surface, and subsurface platforms to hit the targets.
The naval exercise was aimed to display the readiness and combat potential of the Pakistan Navy. Pakistan’s Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi was also present during the live weapons firing demonstration along with other high-level officers from the Pakistan military.
During the firepower demonstration, several missiles and torpedoes were fired through ships, aircraft, and submarines to hit the predefined targets with precision.
After observing the impressive display of live weapons firing, the naval chief expressed his satisfaction with the operational readiness and combat abilities of the Pakistan Navy.
Pakistan’s Naval Chief Niazi commended the professionalism and commitment of Pakistan armed forces, especially Pakistan Naval forces, and deemed it as an essential need to thwart any kind of aggression against Pakistan’s maritime frontiers. He also stated that Pakistan Navy stands fully prepared to tackle all kinds of modern maritime threats.
The firepower display came as the culmination point for the ongoing Sea Spark 2022 naval exercise that started on February 17 in Karachi. Sea Spark is the Pakistan Navy’s biennial naval exercise that focuses on the validation of operational plans to provide an assessment of war preparedness against the envisaged threat spectrum, especially in the maritime domain.
The Sea Spark 2022 is conducted along the Pakistan Coast of the Arabian Sea. All fragments of the Pakistan Navy participate in the Sea Spark exercises, including Naval Special Forces, Naval Marines, and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) along with relevant factions of the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force.
During the opening ceremony of Sea Spark 2022, the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations stated that this year’s exercise has been planned to put a special emphasis on Grey-Hybrid warfare in the contemporary geostrategic environment which necessitates an adroit response from the naval forces.
