Indian Navy Receives First of the Four Visakhapatnam-Class Destroyers

Indian Navy received the first of its four indigenously developed Visakhapatnam-class vessels on November 21.
The first INS Visakhapatnam is also known as P-15B or P-15 Bravo-Class Destroyer.
P-15B is a guided-missile destroyer built by Mazagon Docks Limited (MDL), a Mumbai-based Indian shipbuilder.
Indian Navy and MDL signed a contract in January 2011 to build four Project 15B warships.
the Indian Ministry of Defence stated that Project 15B features indigenous content of nearly 75 percent.
The destroyer has a speed of 30 knots (56 km/h), 7,400 MMS with an average speed of 14 knots, and an endurance of 45 days.
The vessel’s detachable include, rail-less Helicopter Hanger for two Medium-Sized Helicopters and four RIHB Rigid Inflatable Boats.
The destroyer’s length is 164 meters, 17.4 meters beam, 6.5 meters draft, with a displacement capacity of 74,000 tonnes, and can carry a crew of 300 (including 50 officers + 250 sailors.
