Reports available on social media confirmed that one of the master-minds of Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris was killed in U.S. air strike on January 31 in Yemen.

The Yemeni-based Al-Qaeda sources have confirmed that Sheikh Harith bin Ghazi al-Nathari who instigated and justified the Paris attack has been killed in a U.S. air strike in Shabwa province of Yemen.

The U.S. jets fired missiles at a car in which Sheikh Harith bin Ghazi al-Nathari and three other Al Qaeda leaders were travelling.

It is believed that French director of DGSE, Bernard Bajolet was convinced that Harith bin Ghazi al-Nathari played a major role in streaming the Paris attack. Bernard Bajolet has served in Afghanistan as an Ambassador during 2011-2013 is said to be specialized in Al Qaeda leadership and activities.

On February 4, 2015 Al-Qaeda linked Twitter account confirmed the death of Arabian Peninsula Al Qaeda leaders.

Sources claim that Sheikh Harith bin Ghazi al-Nathari had justified the attack to avenge the ‘blasphemy’ by French cartoonists and had endorsed the operation heading the legal committee of AQAP on religious affairs.

The United States argues that it has been cooperating with Yemeni security forces to track and kill suspected AQAP members in Yemen’s deserts.
